Shoulder Pouches are the ideal place to keep your small camera or phone in reach for taking quick photos. The main compartment of the shoulder pouches are a good size for your wallet, car keys, map, headlamp, mittens, sunglasses, candy bars, pack towel, GPS, or any other items you would like to have within easy reach. The pouches carry comfortably on your shoulder, and you will hardly notice them there.
The small exterior mesh pocket can be used to store your small items like lip balm, emergency whistle, or a compass.

Choose from 3.1 oz/sqyd Dyneema® Composite Fabric or black 4.85 oz/sqyd Gridstop fabric to match your backpack.
These will fit on almost any pack. Two elastic bands hold the pouch securely to your shoulder straps. It is clipped at the top to prevent it from sliding up or down.
Bellowed design, and the elastic on the front mesh keeps the pouch snug with almost no shaking even when running or jumping.
60 cubic inch main compartment is a good size for items such as a camera. A .5L bottle is also a nice fit and can help counterbalance your pack.
The mesh front pocket is handy for tucking small items.
Draw cord opening is quick and easy for getting at your items.
The pouches are symmetrical, and can go on either side.
Stays dry in all but heavy rain. Line it with a zip lock to protect electronics.

Good experience. Great place to carry my gun in.
This is a great item and makes it easy to carry a phone or other small item in a way that is easily assessable. I have a large phone and wish the pouch was slightly larger. At same time I purchased a bottle holder and it is perfect. It makes it easy to get to the water bottle while hiking.
It fits well on my Nero pack and I can either keep my phone or camera in it safely. It is a good product.
I got a chance to use the shoulder pouch on my recent backpack trip and it worked really great as an extra accessible storage for my phone (in the main pocket) and my Garmin inReach Mini (in the front net pocket). I was able to easily grab my phone to look at it for trail directions -- this was much easier than trying to get my phone out of my backpack hip pocket. I would like to see Zpacks make the pocket just a little larger so my phone was completely down in the pouch (it stuck out just a little bit); however, the cinch cord worked well to tighten the pouch and I didn't feel like my phone would fall out if I was standing upright or not leaning over too far. I am thinking of buying a second pouch for the other side of my backpack because it is so handy and I don't even notice it is on my backpack.
I am happy with my new backpack. It takes the place of an older Osprey Levity. After two 3-days hikes I find that it allows a better and more stable balance of the weight between the hips and the shoulders : No more painful clavicles at the end of a long walking day. The width of the belt and of the shoulder straps makes the Arc Blast very comfortable in spite of an astonishing low empty weight. I have just to get used to a loading adapted to the absence of a top lid pouch.
