Adds comfort , easy access
I love this front utility pack! I have one for both my ZPacks. Doubles as a town day hippack. Super easy access while hiking so it’s ideal for snacks, phone, map, permits, chapstick glide and more. Has a shallow divider for the small items so they don’t disappear in the spaciousness of this pack. The padding added adds comfort so the buckle isn’t in contact with my belly which I really appreciate. It makes buckling the pack a little more effort but I’ve gotten used to it and don’t mind as the gain is worth the trade off for me.
What a great bag! I have not been able to take it into the backcountry yet, but I’m getting a lot of use out of it at work. I were it as a cross body bag to carry my phone, eye goggles and glasses as well as daily use. Very use full for my traveling needs as well and it keeps my important things dry. Whats not to like about it.
I love this so much. Before I got the FUP, I had so many buckles around my waist. Now the FUP just clips right into the waist belt of my Arc Blast. Plus I have room for more snacks now!
I was very satisfied with this purchase. I bought the Front Utility Pack to carry a large camera. My camera fit nicely in the pack. See the product video on the website if you have questions about the size of camera that can be stored in the pack. However, after my last hike I decided to "save the weight" by ditching the bulky camera in favor of my iPhone camera. I will continue to use this pack to carry small items that I want to keep readily available: my cellphone, a map, and snacks. I like the fact that the buckles are tucked inside a protective sleeve. I am not sure the reason for that design, but the sleeve does protect against accidental unbucklings. The pack can be buckled with a strap that comes with the pack or can be buckled directly to a backpack's hip belt. I carried the pack using the included strap rather attaching to my pack's hip belt so I could carry my camera after I set down the back pack. The pack looks like it would be waterproof, although Zpacks appropriately cautions that no pack is really 100% waterproof. This is a well-designed product, superior to anything I came across.
