Our Airplane Travel Case is a useful addition for the jetsetting adventurer looking to blaze international trails. Slide your backpack inside to protect it when checking your backpack on to a plane. When you arrive, move the airplane case to the inside of your backpack and it doubles as a pack liner.

  • The Airplane Case adds protection when checking your backpack on to a plane. It has a sturdy webbing handle on the side for carrying your pack to the terminal. The handle is long so that you can keep your hand centered depending on height of the backpack.

  • The top of the case has a standard roll top opening, and it also has 2 small loops so that you can clip the top with a TSA approved lock, or with a carabiner for a little extra security.

  • This case also doubles as a pack liner! Just move it from the outside of your backpack to the inside once you reach your destination. It has the same construction as our standard pack liner (link), except it is made from thicker Dyneema Composite Fabric for extra durability. The seams are taped.

  • The dimensions are a little bit larger than our standard pack liner so that it will fit the exterior of our backpacks. You will likely need to remove any water bottles or gear from the exterior backpack pockets; move those items to the inside of the pack. It will fit all of our backpacks and other similarly sized packs.

  • Tip: Your backpack will slide into the case easier if you put it in upside down.

  • All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.

  • Made in the USA.

Flat Dimensions: 20.5" wide x 37.5" tall (52 cm x 96 cm)

1.43 oz/sqyd Dyneema Composite Fabric

Dyneema Composite Fabric is composed of high strength Dyneema fiber laminated inside a polyester membrane. It is inherently waterproof and does not require any coatings or DWR treatment. DCF has very high tensile strength for its weight and does not stretch. 1.43 oz/sqyd DCF has a thicker membrane and a higher Dyneema fiber count. This fabric weight has excellent abrasion and puncture resistance. We use this weight for products that need a little extra durability, like our Bear Bag Kit.

Tensile Strength:
 210 lb/in (1840 N/5cm)

Puncture Strength:
5.2 lb (23 N)

Water Resistance:
 >20,000 mmH₂O

Airplane Case

I love the many products I have purchased from your company. I was disappointed with the airplane case. It was too narrow and I was not able to fit my x-sm Zpac into it. I had purchased it for a recent trip that I had to fly. I ended up having to use something else. I would like to have something like this in the future that had more room to fit my pack in.

Lightweight, packable pack airline protection

My pack was torn-up a couple years ago on a flight. This is a great way to protect my pack and to use it as bag liner. Nothing is available that is this good...

Great bag during air flights to you destination

This backpack bag makes transporting your back pack easy. Also protects your backpack if you’re baggage checking it.

Awesome design

So far I love the bag, it fits well both around the outside of the pack and works great as a liner for the pack as well. Haven’t had a chance to travel with it yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

The airplane case worked like a charm.

"In January 2018 I bought a heap of gear from you. I have just returned from a trekking expedition in Mongolia. The airplane case worked like a charm. As well as 3 long-haul flights, it protected my pack on and off camels every day of a 10 day trek. One small tear – easily repaired."
