This item has saved many a hike through scorching temperatures and inclement weather. Great product. Will never hit the trail without it.
The Umbrella Holster allows you to keep your hands free while protecting yourself from the rain and sun with an ultralight umbrella. It easily attaches to the daisy chain on most backpack's straps. In calm weather you can keep both hands on your trekking poles, while in strong wind or driving rain you can rest one hand on the umbrella to control the angle.
The Umbrella Holster consists of a clip and an adjustable shock cord loop that attaches to your shoulder strap.
Attach the buckle above the sternum strap on your strap's daisy chain and then attach the shock cord loop at the bottom of the daisy chain.
Insert your umbrella into the clip and then cinch the shock cord tight around the umbrella’s handle.
Perfect for use with our Lotus UL Umbrella.
- shoulder strap
Simple and effective
They call it a holster I call it a clip. Whatever you call it the thing works great. Small weighs very little and is not in my way. Other products used for umbrellas wrap around the shoulder strap and have Velcro that can poke and cause issues. I would purchase this again.
80% solution to hands free
Great idea that needs some tweaks. A Velcro strap would better align the umbrella shaft along the pack strap. The bungee needs to be placed to prevent the umbrella from sliding down the clip. Note that the umbrella is offset being on a shoulder so the opposite side arm gets wet. All said, this is an excellent solution to Goretex saturation and space to take photos while it’s raining.
While the hiking umbrella worked well the Zpacks holder that was attached to our Zpacks 25 litre pack didn’t work very well, kept popping off the pack. Purchasing the clip was worth a try, ended up carrying the umbrella in my hand much of the time.

This was terrific for hiking the Grand Canyon. The temperature was 111f and it made a huge difference
Works perfectly. Keeps the umbrella in place and doesn't interfere with movement while hiking.
