I like this product a lot. Overall quality is great, it’s super customizable, and is very adjustable (which is really important to bigger guys like me). There might be too many straps and string hanging off for some tastes, but that’s the compromise needed for all that flexibility.
I had the shock cord lashings added to my new Z pack arc haul backpack. I have on used it on one overnight trip but found it very useful to quickly add something bulky to the outside of my pack and secure it without opening my pack (tent frame poles, trekking poles, rain jacket. I would recommend adding this to your back pack. I am sure I will find many more ways to use the shock cord in the future as well.
One of the recent upgrades to my Arc Haul was the addition of the Shock cord lashing. I find it really completes the pack because things I stick in mesh pocket tend to make it look quite full and bulky and non aesthetically pleasing. The shock cord really helps to compress this down while also making the pack more functional. Great place to hold wet rain gear to dry or hang clothes to dry while hiking. I believe the shock cord is a must have. It adds mire versatility and additional storage options.
Its shock cord. It works like shock cord. It's a little expensive for what it is.
I have only tried it out on a moderate 5-mile hike with 20 pounds. The way the waistband wraps my hip bone, no wet shirt back, ingenious sizing system and weight transfer, I'm sold. Ok, it's a glorified plastic bag with tiny fittings and straps, but it's so well made and designed, both my companion and I commented that (at that weight) we occasionally forgot we were wearing a pack.
