Vertice Rain Kilt
5 reviewsThe Vertice Kilt is a unique solution to staying cool in warm weather storms, and is a great option for ultralight waist to knee rain protection. It can also be worn as a stand alone item on laundry day. The Vertice Rain Kilt works great when combined with our Vertice Rain Jacket or Groundsheet Poncho.
Also available in a lighter weight Dyneema Composite Fabric DCF Rain Kilt version.
If you're not into a kilt but still into staying dry, check out the rest of our Rain Gear.
The back of the kilt can be opened or closed with a waterproof separating zipper. The zipper will never blow open or leak.
This kilt has a conical shape that is wider at the bottom to allow for a longer stride. You can unzip it as necessary if the hem is not large enough for your stride.
The waist has a shock cord drawstring that can be cinched down to any smaller waist size./p>
When opened flat the kilt can be used as a small ground cloth for breaks or for storing gear on wet ground. The kilt has reinforced tie out loops at the four corners, and at the center of the sides for other uses.
Packs up tiny. Just roll the kilt up and secure it with the waist elastic. No stuff sack necessary.
All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.

Fabulous bit of kit when matched with lightweight coat - sheds rain well and keeps my shorts dry. If very windy and raining , then reducing stride length and increasing the amount of the kilt zipped up stops the kilt lifting. Small size when packed, easy to put on quickly, always in my walking kit now.
This rain kilt is the best. It’ll keep you dry while not creating a swamp in your pants. I also use this as a groundsheet when hammock camping. At just a few oz it has become a staple in my pack here in the unpredictable PNW.
I just bought another kilt as a Christmas present for my husband. He was so impressed with how mine performed on The Great Ocean Walk (it actually rained somewhere in Australia!) that he wanted one too. Love the ventilation aspect of the kilt design. Well done Z-packs..
I waited until a huge rain front swept through our area to go try this out. Walked a five mile moderate trail in heavy rain and it worked perfectly. The fabric feels like you’re wearing a silk skirt and doesn’t rub on your legs or make “swishing” sounds as you walk. Since it was a warm front, the weather was nice, so I took off my jacket and t-shirt, and wore the kilt over a pair of shorts. To my delight, everything below stayed nice and dry. For me, this is a must have piece of rain kit.
