V Top Strap
Our V Top Strap adds additional stability when you’re carrying heavier items on the top of your backpack. It is a little bit more secure than the standard, single top strap.
It can be used to carry a bear canister so long as the canister can squish into your gear as shown. Alternatively, a canister can also be carried standing vertically inside the pack.
The V Top Strap is modular and can be added or removed from your pack as necessary. Our normal, single top strap is also included when you add this option.
These Top straps are not compatible with the Nero backpack. If you need a V Top Strap for your Nero, you'll can purchase one specifically designed to work with one here.

I typically pack on the higher weight end of the ArcBlast pack limit so I like to carry my tent on the outside and on top for quick set up in camp. I replaced the single strap with the V top strap and it worked great stabilizing my tent on top.
So far excellent fit and super comfortable glad I got the extra lumbar pad and water bottle holder and shoulder pouch..still deciding if I want to add the hip belt pockets..have only used on a few day hikes so far but already my favorite piece of gear..Will give more complete review this winter after few hundred miles on the Florida Trail...I believe your rain jacket will be my next purchase..Thanks again for such great quality products!
This backpack is so light and useful.. a very good purchase...
It's a good thing. Better a securing a load on top than the standard strap.
First thing I did was throw in my bag, tent and pad which all fit tightly into the bottom portion of the pack by the way. I added a few warm clothes, cooking gear and food; then atyached my alpine boots to the outside using side pulls, crampons and chair to the bottom loops and slid in an ice axe down the side and into the pouch just to be safe! From there it was only 10 miles and 7000 ft. to the top of Northern California's world a top 14'179 majestic Mount Shasta! Thanks for zeeee pack, Zpacks!!!
