Top Side Pocket
Sometimes an adventure calls for a little extra space. Our modular Top Side Pockets allow you to carry extra gear (like your cooking pot or rain gear) on the outside of your pack while still being able to accommodate taller items (like trekking poles, an umbrella, or a fishing pole) behind the pockets.
Buy two and save! (Two for $45)
Constructed with 2.92 oz/sqyd Dyneema Composite Fabric on the back, and durable, stretchy pocket mesh on the front.
Mesh allows you to easily see the contents, and to dry out wet items.
They are a good fit for a 1 Liter or smaller pot, a water filter, hat and gloves, our rain jacket and pants, or an inflatable sleeping pad.
Since these are not sewn to the pack you can still stand tall items like trekking poles, an umbrella, or a fishing pole behind the pockets.
The pockets can be taken off or added later.
All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.
Made in the USA.

Kitchen in a Pocket
The Zpacks Top Side Pocket is the perfect size to put one’s kitchen out of the way, keeping it handy for quick meal deployment, and keeping the clunky, won’t fit anywhere else comfortably, meal pot out of the way. It also doubles for anything when rapid access may be required, like rain gear or a bag of chips, should one be so inclined.
Bad Customer Service Experience
I think the items that I received are great, however, I did not receive all of the items in the order. I wanted to call the company to express my concerns but there is no phone number for me to call, which I think is ridiculous. I emailed the company numerous times and asked for someone to call me back and no one ever did. Do humans run this company or is it completely automated. All I wanted was to hear a human's voice to straighten out my issues. Therefore, my advice would be to have humans answer phones to help people out!!
Side Pokets installing
EXASPERATING !!!!!!! I was ready ( after trying almost every-way , Except the correct one ) to pack them and ship them back to you for a refund. Fortunately I remembered Red Beards presentation on the web about how to install the top side pockets. Thanks to my computer and being at home. i was able to see the correct way and get them installed on my pack. A simple single sheet of paper with instructions would of been a big help. It would save a lot of problems for anyone who does not have a computer handy or does not know about Red Beards presentation. After they are on the pack ( correctly ) they are really a very useful item. They are a great place for on the trail items so you do not have to dig into your pack. They free up the bottom pockets for close at hand necessitates like water bottles.
Works as advertised!
I hung this pocket on my Northern Ultralight Sundown backpack and it held my Tri-Ti Sidewinder with Toaks 900 ML *plus* my alcohol bottle and cleaning sponge superbly. I was also able to wedge my larger water carrier underneath it, during a longer stretch without decent water source. See the orange mesh on the top right as pictured.
