NRS HydroSkin® Gloves are perfect for hikers looking to cut the chill without sacrificing grip or feel. Great in the rain, snow, or other wet cold conditions, the thin neoprene material insulates and protects your hands even when wet. It allows you the enhanced mobility to easily pitch your tent in the rain or snow, or breakdown and pack up your cold wet tent the morning after a rainy night.

These also make excellent winter gloves for shoveling snow or scraping ice off your car, while small enough to fit in your jacket pocket. Combine them with Vertice Rain Mitts as a shell to keep them dry, and they can handle even arctic temperatures.

Keep your toes warm when wet too with NRS HydroSkin Socks.

Great for milder conditions

I've been looking for an ultralight, water-resistant glove with high dexterity for activities in the snow. TL;DR: I'm still looking, although these do tick a lot of boxes for me. I stress-tested them in a single day with variable wintry conditions ranging from 32 degrees and light snow at the trailhead to several hours of off-trail snowshoeing and bushwhacking, culminating in a summit with heavy blowing snow and a significant wind chill factor. What I like: - Extremely light and comfortable. I love the range of motion -- it almost feels like not wearing a glove at all. - I found them quite warm while temps were in the low 30's. I had to take them off after about 15 minutes of vigorous uphill hiking because my hands were so hot they started sweating. - While not advertised as touchscreen-compatible, they are conductive enough to work with my phone. - Water-resistant from the outside, however, see below. What I don't: - The thin insulation is noticeable, especially once outside temperatures dipped below freezing. I was acutely aware of the surface temp of everything I touched: metal trekking poles, snowshoe bindings, snow-laden tree branches, etc. Touching anything cold robbed my fingers of warmth very quickly; they promptly went numb and it would take 10-15 minutes to warm back up. This was a painful and perpetually repeating cycle throughout the day. I really wished for some kind of additional liner or cover mitt -- anything that might help trap that heat. - Not wind-proof. When it really starts blowing, you'll feel it. I would guess the wind chill up on the ridge was in the teens, and my fingers were freezing. - Once I started sweating, the gloves stayed damp on the inside. At the end of the day I ended up with very pruned fingertips. I can't entirely blame the gloves for this as I wore them for ~5 hours straight in some pretty taxing conditions. I should have taken them off to let my hands dry, but... hey, it was cold. So while I wouldn't recommend them for extreme winter conditions like the long day of bushwhacking I put them through, take my review with a grain of salt as these gloves definitely aren't intended for that. I'm a big fan the light and flexible form factor, so I'll definitely be keeping them. I think they'll be great in milder temps where I'm sticking to the trail and not working so hard, or as a barely-weighs-anything insulation layer for tasks around camp.

Best gloves

For cold and rainy weather. I just wish they were screen workable too. But super light for crazy cold weather.

Great for backpacking in the rain. Kept my hands dry… not too warm, but it was a 35 degree rain shower for two days. I kind of expected it to not be very warm. Still, these gloves did their job and I highly suggest them to anyone who wants to keep their hands dry and relatively warm.

Cycle under the rain - still cold!

Quality to preserve warmth is not as expected at all.
