Wonderful experience with my new Vertices jacket! This was an exchange and the whole process was painless! Looking forward to using this jacket once my newly operated foot heals...My husband absolutely loves his, which is why I ordered one for myself. The jacket fits perfectly... usually a challenge for me as I'm 5'0" tall and 95 pounds, and I was able to find a color I like. I'm pleased with the light weight of it as well. Looking forward to enjoying it on adventures for years to come.
Just returned from many days on a rather wet Wonderland Trail trip around Mt Rainier. The jacket was used often. Features I liked: Longer length, pit zips, fabric light but handled the tension from pack shoulder straps, comfortable, hood worked okay (used baseball cap under it to keep it secured in place) and jacket kept me dry. Improvements: Add pockets - while no pockets helps to keep weight of jacket lower, when standing around at camp in the rain it would have been nice to have hand pockets; Zipper was a bit hard to get started at times, all looked aligned correctly, nothing caught, but at times it look several tries to get it to zip closed, once started zipper was fine.
I was familiar with the Challenger Unisex rain gear, but the jacket never fit me (I'm pear shaped). Got a size L before a trip to Washington. It fit great. Sleeve length was long enough to cover my hands in the rain and could be shortened using the wrist shock cords. Wore it in steady rain backpacking with pit zips full open for a day and damp conditions the next. I thought it was a little long when I got it, but loved the length in the rain -- the jacket is long enough not to feel confining. Great ventilation and breathability and was totally dry inside the jacket. Packs down to virtually nothing.
