1.50 oz/sqyd Vertice Waterproof Breathable Fabric

This three-layer material has a tricot lining to wick moisture away from your skin, a waterproof vapor permeable membrane in the middle, and 7 denier ripstop nylon on the exterior. The outer surface is treated with a durable "C6" water repellent. The Vertice fabric boasts an incredible breathability rating that blows away most other rain gear, including our previous generation fabrics.

Weight: 1.50oz/sqyd (51g/ m²)

Vapor Transfer (JIS L 1099 Method B1): 56,000+ g/m^2/24hr

Water Resistance: >20,000 mmH₂O

Measure your chest using a string or cloth tape measure and go by the "Fits up to" size. The "Fits up to" size includes a few inches of wiggle room for layering. The jackets are straight cut (like Men's jackets) and do not flare out at the hips.

They are fine for women, but make sure your hips will fit the bottom hem girth, or size up.  A women's specific version is also available here.

  • Rain gear should only be washed as needed, after a few trips or if you notice that the DWR is not as effective as when new.
  • Machine wash with Grangers Wash+Repel or similar product.
  • Tumble dry or line dry.

So happy with this purchase

Lightweight, keeps the wind and rain out. Especially love the extra length - so much longer than normal jackets! And, the underarm zips are extra long so that if you must don a jacket, you don’t get wetter in the jacket! Two friends have since ordered after seeing my jacket.

Long fit is perfect for taller people

I’m 6’4” and typically wear a 36-37” long sleeve. I was concerned the sleeves of the Large size would be too short, but was pleasantly surprised. The cut of this jacket is longer in the body and sleeves. If you are shorter you’ll have extra material which is probably a good thing for rain coverage. I typically am between a L Tall and M Tall. This Large fits very well. Not too large as I expected. What an excellent, light jacket!

Men's vertices rain jacket

Have only had this jacket for a few weeks, it is of course light and more importantly a full featured rain jacket considering the weight. Fits well, so far have not had an opportunity to wear it in rainy, wet, windy weather.

Put to the Test

Before hiking, I got my wife to spray me with Garden Hose - all good there. Took hiking and it moderately rained and the jacket performed really well. In my other rain jackets, they make me too warm making the jackets sometimes uncomfortable to wear however the Vertice, I never felt I needed to take off. It was great and really loved the lightness of it. I recommend !

Vertice jacket and pants

Kept me dry in light rains on a 9 day trek in New Mexico. The pants ripped on underbrush and will need repairs.
