Could be the best rain jacket on the market. Keeps you dry from the rain outside and dry on the inside as it is very breathable.

1.50 oz/sqyd Vertice Waterproof Breathable Fabric

This three-layer material has a tricot lining to wick moisture away from your skin, a waterproof vapor permeable membrane in the middle, and 7 denier ripstop nylon on the exterior. The outer surface is treated with a durable "C6" water repellent. The Vertice fabric boasts an incredible breathability rating that blows away most other rain gear, including our previous generation fabrics.

Weight: 1.50oz/sqyd (51g/ m²)

Vapor Transfer (JIS L 1099 Method B1): 56,000+ g/m^2/24hr

Water Resistance: >20,000 mmH₂O

Measuring:

Measure your chest using a string or cloth tape measure and go by the "Fits up to" size. The "Fits up to" size includes a few inches of wiggle room for layering. The jackets are straight cut (like Men's jackets) and do not flare out at the hips.

They are fine for women, but make sure your hips will fit the bottom hem girth, or size up.  A women's specific version is also available here.

  • Rain gear should only be washed as needed, after a few trips or if you notice that the DWR is not as effective as when new.
  • Machine wash with Grangers Wash+Repel or similar product.
  • Air or line dry. DO NOT dry using a dryer.

Ok

I purchased the rain jacket for a CDT thru hike. For the price I expected more. The chest pocket blew out in the first three weeks of my hike after wearing it 2-3 times. I love the fit, weight, and features. What I didn’t like was how quickly the jacket wets out. I was bone dry the first 7 or so times I used the jacket. After that the jacket stopped preforming as I had hoped. The jacket now wets out in a matter of minutes even in a light rain. I’m back to my old rain suit that is 12 years old. Oh well, at least my duplex was amazing!
