Our Summer Quilt is designed with just the right amount of warmth for summer nights when the forecast is above freezing. This bag is so light, and packs down so small it can easily be tucked in your day pack just in case, or achieve an unbeatable base weight on longer summer trips.

Combine this quilt with our Zpacks Down Jacket and a Fleece Hat to boost the warmth even further when needed.

The summer quilt closes with a snap at the center and at the neck for easy venting on hot nights. Shock cord can be cinched at the neck to seal out drafts.

The Summer Quilt is also compatible with our Sleeping Pad Quilt Strap (sold separately) which allows you to snap it to your sleeping pad to keep it tucked and in place.

When sub-freezing weather rolls around the Summer Quilt springs back into action as a Winter Liner. It works well as an additional layer to push the limits of your three season sleeping bag further into the colder seasons. It fits well inside any of our bottom zipper or side zipper sleeping bags, quilts, and mummy bags.

If you can only own two sleeping bags, combine one of our 20F (2.5" loft) bags and a 40F (1.25" loft) Summer Quilt / Winter Liner to keep you comfortable nearly year round by layering as needed.

A Zpacks Slim DCF Roll Top Dry Bag is included! A $30+ value!

  • Constructed with Responsible Down Standard certified 900 fill power Muscovy Duck down.
  • Goose and duck down are naturally water repellent, but as with any down (treated or not) it will wet out if exposed to moisture for more than a few minutes. Our Muscovy down is ultrasonic-washed. It is odor free and contains no added chemicals or treatments.
  • Each compartment is overstuffed with 30% more 900 Fill Power premium down than is necessary for maximum loft to account for any future down compression.
  • Vertical baffles on the upper body keep down from migrating to the sides. Tightly spaced compartments help keep the down evenly distributed so there are no cold spots.
  • This bag features an envelope style foot box that is roomy, and fits the shape of your feet comfortably when lying on your side, on your stomach, or on your back with your feet angled out in a relaxed position. Sewn through seams keep the weight to a minimum.
  • Black fabric on the inside for quick drying.
  • Both the .51 oz/sqyd Ventum Ripstop Nylon liner and the shell are treated with a PFAS free C0 durable water repellent to resist rain spray and body moisture. The materials do not contain any harmful chemicals such as flame retardants.
  • The quilt has a snap at the center to help keep the sides secured underneath you. A Sleeping Pad Quilt Strap can be added if desired to keep the sides tucked and in place.
  • A snap at the top keeps the bag securely closed at the neck.
  • An Elastic cord can be cinched tight around your neck to keep out drafts, or pull the bag up around your ears. This bag does not have a hood- wear a Fleece Hat, a Zpacks Down Jacket w/ a hood, or size up in length if you want to pull it up around your head.
  • A Slim Dry Bag is included, and adds ~.6 ounces (17 grams) to the listed weight. The dry bags are a comfortable fit and can be compressed smaller by squishing the contents and rolling the top down more.
  • All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.
  • Made in the USA.

Great quilt

Great quilt and super light and comfy to sleep in. Around 45 degrees I had to start adding some extra layers

Very warm for the weight and volume, a true wonder I would say. However, the shell fabric is very prone to the feathers puncturing it from inside. Then you try to pull it out and it catches another feather, and so on. Only cutting them down helps. Have several of these after the first night. The quality of sewing is questionable. Along the seems a lot of unwoven shell fabric filaments are coming outside. If those will catch some hook it will be bad, so scissors are needed. Looks like my diy project in this regard, to be honest, and I am not good at this. Overall, I consider the flaws to be a part of lightness. I will look at how it will go further. I am using it as a top quilt in a hammock.

My favorite Quilt

This thing is crazy light and packs down crazy small. Spent many nights on the AZT in it while temps were regularly in the 30's, it kept me toasty warm!

Lightest quilt I've found for ultra-light backpacking

Rated to 40 degrees F, this is the lightest quilt I've used. At 5'9" I ordered the medium length and broad width. It is an honest 10.3 ounces on my digital scale. Paired with a Thermarest Uberlight regular length wide pad (11 ounces), my sleep system weighs less than many sleeping bags. Another win from Zpacks.
