Master the elements with the Men’s Vertice Rain Pants. Gone are the days of getting soaked with hot, humid and unventilated rain gear. Our Vertice Rain Gear material is optimized to be lightweight without compromising on durability, and it is among the lightest possible choices for waterproof hyper-breathable rain gear.

  • Adjustable shock cord at the waist. The shock cord can be cinched down to any minimum.

  • Wide ankles will fit over most shoes up to US Men’s size 12.

  • Packs up tiny as shown. Roll the pants up and secure them with the waist elastic. No stuff sack necessary.

  • Repair tape sticks extremely well to the inside of the material so repairs in the field are a cinch. Tape will not stick to the exterior.

  • Combine these pants with a matching Jacket and Mitts for a super light rain suit!

  • All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.

  • Made in the USA.

1.92 oz/sqyd Vertice Waterproof Breathable Fabric

This three-layer material has a tricot lining to wick moisture away from your skin, a waterproof vapor permeable membrane in the middle, and 7 denier ripstop nylon on the exterior. The outer surface is treated with a durable "C6" water repellent. The Vertice fabric boasts an incredible breathability rating that blows away most other rain gear, including our previous generation fabrics.

Weight: 1.92 oz/sqyd (65 g/m²)

Vapor Transfer (JIS L 1099 Method B1): 56,000+ g/m^2/24hr

Water Resistance: >20,000 mmH₂O

Made in Japan.

Use a string or cloth tape measure to measure around your waist and compare that to our "Fits Waist" measurement. Don't rely on your "pant size" as the waist varies from brand to brand and may not actually correspond to inches.

There is no zipper, so our pants are built with the waist line loose enough to come up over typical hips and fit over your normal hiking pants. There is an elastic waist band to cinch them down to any minimum size. Women with large hips may need to size up a waist size.

The inseam length corresponds to normal US Men's pant inseams.

  • Rain gear should only be washed as needed, after a few trips or if you notice that the DWR is not as effective as when new.
  • Machine wash with Grangers Wash+Repel or similar product.
  • Tumble dry or line dry.

Best lightweight breathable rain pants out there!

These are crazy light and just as unstoppable against wind and rain, they don't sweat out and actually breathe, I wouldn't have thought these were real and yet they do all the above and fit in half a one liter side pocket. These are amazing!

Vertice rain pants

The pants are light weight. The only challenge is they do not easily it over mid height boots. On my last trip, I was unable to get them over the mids I was wearing. If they were just a small bit wider at the bottom they would go over. These are great if you are using hiking/running shoes and not boots.

Great pants - sizing is way off

I was pretty excited to pack rain pants since they are so light. I got them in the mail just in time. The plan was to wear my normal rain pants if it looked like rain all weekend. So it’s snowing in Yellowstone as we start to pack up to head buddy forgets his rain pants... so I end up wearing my new Zpacks rain pants. I put them on and they’re WAY too big. I end up cinching them way down and pulling them all the way up until the crotch is touching. As they work their way down at some point through the 20 miles that weekend they caught my heel or the ground and ripped. Saved me to have them in the nonstop snow, but I wish I had the right size. Their sizing chart is way off. I will contact them to see if they can help me out on my second pair. I had the large-tall, and I’m skinny 6’ tall, 165lbs. Usually wear ranging from 32-32 to 34-34 pants.

Nice Rain pants.

They worked well on my September Collegiate Loop hike in CO. They blocked the wind on the high ridges, helped with warmth on some cold evenings and mornings when worn over my shorts. They kept me dry and comfortable during three rainstorms I encountered. They breathed very well. No clammy wetness with regular hiking. On a steep climb over a 12,000ft pass I began to feel a bit clammy. However, understand that was a steep, long climb in partial sunshine just after the rain moved out. I wear size 12 men’s wide width trail runners and was able to slide the rain pants over the shoes both on and off. It was not super easy with my big feet, but it worked. Super light, DRIES VERY FAST, breaths well, packs down to nothing. Pleased with my purchase. Five stars.
