50 Feet 2.0 mm Z-Line Slick Cord

10 reviews
$14.95 Weight 1.7 oz / 48.0 g

Lead Time In Stock

Keep your delicious trail food out of the hands of those hungry bears. This cord is made of solid braided 100% UHMWPE fiber with no sheathe. It is smooth and slick which allows it to slide over branches easier, perfect for bear bagging. This diameter cord is easy to grab a hold of and tangle resistant.

The slick line is not as bright and doesn't grip as well as the sheathed Z-Line, but it is stronger by weight.

Breaking Strength: over 200 lbs

Weight: .1 ounces per yard (3 grams/meter)

Weight per 50ft: 1.7 ounces (48 grams)

Nice rope

Holding up well after a couple dozen hangs. Very easy to hoist bags up to 5-6 kg. Above that it becomes difficult for one person to grip.

Excellent bear line!

Great stuff! Super light, super strong, and super slick! Waaaay better than 550 paracord!

Makes for an awesome ultra-light food hanging rope!

Seeking to reduce the weight (and size) of my old 300g food rope system, I bought this strong and ultra-light rope, and combined it with a smooth, relatively heavy carabiner (50g +). The result is a food rope system that is tiny in size, light-weight (90 g) and super-easy to toss and slide over a tree branch. (We use a paddling glove for the hoist, since the rope is quite slim). I love this rope and have recently purchased more to make food-hanging systems for my friends!

Slick, perhaps too slick?

I used the line to hang my bear bag on the AT, but sometimes the knots are too tight and you need a tent stake to wiggle it open. Otherwise a great, slick line.
