I’m a cold sleeper and was looking for options to help keep my feet warm through out the night. In the past I’ve used wool socks which helped but didn’t quite keep the chill out. The first night I used the goose socks it was like heaven! They are so lightweight and add noticeable warmth! These will extend my hiking season well into the late fall, worth every penny!

    .59 oz/sqyd Ventum Ripstop Nylon

This super light, high quality, 7 denier fabric showcases a ciré finish on both sides and weighs in at just .59 oz/sqyd (17 g/m²).  Featuring a high quality "C6" durable water repellant (DWR), this ripstop and tear resistant material can also handle a light mist (but is not waterproof).

Ventum nylon cuts the wind while still allowing for excellent vapor transfer the makes the fabric highly breathable.  With a soft texture, Ventum is not sticky or plasticky like some other fabrics in this weight range.

As the material is down and mosquito proof, it is an excellent choice for wind shell clothing and sleeping bag shells.

    Weight: .59 oz/sqyd (17 g/m²)

    850 Fill Power Down

This ethically sourced premium down is great for providing warmth in sleeping bags, hoods and socks.

    Total Weight: Medium 1.8 oz (51 g) / Large 1.9 oz (54 g)

    Fill Weight: Medium 1.0 oz (28.35g) / Large 1.1 oz (31.18g

    Storage

Store loose (hanging in a closet for example) when not in use.

    Washing

Goose Socks do not need to be washed very often. Wash once after a long season or only as needed.

Be careful of machine washing down Goose Socks. The twisting motion of a washing machine could potentially tear the shell material. If you do try a washing machine do so at your own risk using the delicate setting.

We recommend hand washing your Goose Socks in a sink or bathtub with warm water and Granger's Down wash. Swish the socks around for a few minutes and rinse.

Squish the socks and squeeze as much water as you can out of it.

For best results, lay the socks out in the sun to dry. You may have to periodically pull apart any wet down clumps to allow them to dry completely and fluff back up like new.

High heat from a clothes dryer can melt delicate shell materials. We recommend drying your down gear items in the sun, or line drying indoors if the weather doesn't permit sun drying.

    Fabulous goose socks

I bought these for a month long walk on the 1000km/621m Bibbulmun Track in Western Australia, Australia. Overnight temps could drop to 0oC/32F. They proved to be worth their weight in gold, even though I had a -4oC sleeping bag. I gave a pair to a friend who has cold feet, even in his house, and he loves them. I met several women who complained of having cold thighs and backside at night, and I think Zpacks should make 'bloomers' for women in goose down. It would be great to pull them on before bed and not be cold.

I've needed these for a long time

One of my best investments ever! I've spent days in sub freezing weather, stuck in the snow, freezing my butt off. My feet never warm up. I finally found these and bought them right away. For me, they've been a game changer. So far I've only used them on the Colorado Trail. Plenty of freezing nights, snow, hail, and rain. My feet always nice and cozy at night! No drafts! Gotta love them! More trips coming up and they'll be in my pack on those trips too!

    Great

Great for warm feet during the night and can be used as gloves to warm up hands on cold mornings. Takes very little space and are very light.
