- Our 2.35 oz/sqyd Octa® fleece offers exceptional warmth at an incredibly light weight, making it an advanced alternative to traditional fleece. It excels as an active insulation and performs well in a range of temperatures from the 30F's (0 C) to the upper 60F's (20C) while moving.
- The interior of the Octa® features a fluffy next-to-skin, brushed surface that traps air to keep you comfy and warm.

Light and Comfy
It’s extremely light, lighter than my Alpha Direct. Inside has a nice soft feel. And I sized up (from S to M) and it’s a great fit. A little on the long side but having a pack on and what not, be a good thing -imo. Really hit it out of the park with this one ZPacks!
Best midlayer
Everything about the Octa fleece hoody is perfect. Shockingly warm for the weight (156 g in large). My first trip out was 24 hours of rain at Point Reyes in December. I wore the hoody over a Brynje mesh shirt and didn’t bother pulling my puffy out for cooking etc. the Octa was plenty warm with its loose hood. I don’t use thumb loop cuffs but appreciate the option and they just stay out of the way. The zipper and pocket are perfect. I’d read a suggestion that wicking is better with the hard side of fabric next to skin and this bears out in limited testing. The seams don’t chafe or catch easily and zipper backing prevents it digging into skin. For the weight, warmth and apparent durability I don’t think there’s a better base/mid layer

Exceeded expectations for warmth to weight
Amazing piece to layer over. This and a wind shirt over it and I am comfortable to freezing as long as I am moving.
