Goose Hood
27 reviewsCouldn’t be happier with this down hood. Perfect for quilt users, doesn’t slide around or off your head at night like a beanie can on straight, slick hair. Much better than the hood on a sleeping bag, which can slide into your face when you turn, and of course can’t be detached for use as a separate warm hood. The ultra light weight is remarkable. It’s very warm and has a cozy fit and feel.

Get ready for sweet dreams on cold nights when bundled up with the Goose Hood. A perfect companion to your ultralight down quilt, stay cozy and snug tucked away from the cold. The Goose Hood can also be worn by itself when you need extra protection from the chill.
Comfortable fit on most head sizes.

900 Fill Power Down This ethically sourced premium down is great for providing warmth in sleeping bags, hoods and socks. |
Storage
Store loose (hanging in a closet for example) when not in use.
Washing
Goose Hoods do not need to be washed very often. Wash once after a long season or only as needed.
Be careful of machine washing down Goose Hoods. The twisting motion of a washing machine could potentially tear the shell or the internal baffles. If you do try a washing machine do so at your own risk using the delicate setting.
We recommend hand washing your Goose Hood in a sink or bathtub with warm water and Granger's Down wash. Swish the hood around for a few minutes and rinse.
Squish the hood and squeeze as much water as you can out of it.
For best results, lay the hood out in the sun to dry. You may have to periodically pull apart any wet down clumps to allow them to dry completely and fluff back up like new.
High heat from a clothes dryer can melt delicate shell materials. We recommend drying your down gear items in the sun, or line drying indoors if the weather doesn't permit sun drying.

Goosed on High Route
great addition to a quilt, used with my EE 20degree for the cold nights, stayed on better than a beenie

Nice Bag
Overall had a fast quick experience. Took a shot knowing nothing even though I get pro deals on many exact same products from many different companies. Hard to find gear being 6'4 and customized to what you want. Everything came quick and no issues w anything. Never had to deal w customer service and no quality issues. Has kept me warm on many squat camping trips so far up here in Pacific northwest.

Cozy Goose Hood
The Goose Hood is perfect for the fall/winter and winter/spring shoulder seasons when keeping your head and neck warm makes a huge difference in sleep quality on the trail. May seem like a luxury but I think of it as part of the bag. At the campsite I put it on as soon as the sun begins to set while eating dinner. Eases my transition to warm and cozy sleep.

Warm well made super light
comfortable and warm all the way around

Essential
This thing saved me a ton of discomfort on an unexpectedly cold night/morning. Almost weightless extra “something” when the hooded layers/beanie won’t quite cut it

Goose Socks
I’m a cold sleeper and was looking for options to help keep my feet warm through out the night. In the past I’ve used wool socks which helped but didn’t quite keep the chill out. The first night I used the goose socks it was like heaven! They are so lightweight and add noticeable warmth! These will extend my hiking season well into the late fall, worth every penny!

Fleece Hat
A few weeks earlier, I would have just lived with a cold head. But not now! For almost no weight and a tiny amount of space in my pack, I put up a strong defense against hypothermia. Another great product!

Excellent! I have the worst circulation and have tried literally every glove and mitten on the market. My hands and fingertips freeze within a few minutes of being in the cold wether it's mild or below zero. These gloves keep my fingertips warm! I do not have to wear anything else.

Zpacks Ventum Wind Shell - Men's
Amazingly light but cuts the wind and holds the heat in with a layer underneath!
– Joe B., ★★★★★
Choosing the right layer for crisp spring mornings and chilly fall nights can be a challenge. Our Men's Ventum Shell is crafted to cut the breeze and trap warmth in your base layer or against your skin.
Ventum fabric strikes the right balance between cutting cold wind while still allowing enough breathability for sweat to escape when hiking on chilly mornings and evenings. Ventum fabric tests at 39.5 CFM under ASTM D-737.
It’s perfect for when a base layer alone is not enough, but insulation would make you overheat. Weighing under 2 ounces this is a must-have item for when you plan to hike in cool weather.
If you don't see your size, we also have some sizes available at a discount in our Bargain Bin while supplies last.
