This quilt is awesome! It’s my first quilt in the transition from a sleeping bag, and I couldn’t be happier. Super light, super simple, and incredibly comfortable. It also surprised me at how packable it is, it’s one of the easiest items to put back in it’s provided stuff sack. I would recommend this quilt to anyone.

  • Constructed with responsibly sourced and 'Responsible Down Standard' certified DownTek PCF-FREE water-resistant 900 fill power goose down which stays dry 90% longer than untreated down.
  • Each compartment is overstuffed with 30% more 900 Fill Power Premium Goose Down than is necessary for maximum loft to account for any future down compression.
  • Vertical baffles on the upper body keep down from migrating to the sides. Tightly spaced compartments help keep the down evenly distributed so there are no cold spots. There are no "sewn through" seams.
  • Our rectangular foot box is roomy, and fits the shape of your feet comfortably when lying on your side, on your stomach, or on your back with your feet angled out in a relaxed position.
  • Black fabric on the inside for quick drying. Both the liner and the shell are treated with C0 durable water repellent to resist rain spray and body moisture.
  • The quilt has a snap at the center to help keep the sides secured underneath you. A strap is also included that allows you to snap the quilt to your sleeping pad, to help you stay on your pad at night. The strap adds +.2 oz (6 g) if you choose to use it.
  • A snap at the top keeps the bag securely closed.
  • An Elastic cord can be cinched tight around your neck to keep out drafts, or pull the bag up around your ears. This bag does not have a hood- wear a warm hat, or a Goose Down Hood, or size up in length if you want to pull it up around your head.
  • Roll Top Dry Bag is included, and adds ~.9 ounces (25.5 grams) to the listed weight. The dry bags are a comfortable fit and can be compressed smaller by squishing the contents and rolling the top down more.
  • All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.
  • Our sleeping bag shell materials do not contain any harmful chemicals such as flame retardants. Our shell is treated with C0 Durable Water Repellent, which is free of PFOA and PFOs

ISO Rating

While our sleeping bags and quilts have not been tested for their International Standard Organization (ISO) rating, we estimate based on feedback and use that they are closest to the  ISO "Transition Range.“

.51 oz/sqyd Ventum Ripstop Nylon

The inner and outer shells of our Sleeping Bags and Quilts are both made from this super light, high quality, 7 denier fabric that weighs in at just .51 oz/sqyd (17 g/m²).

Featuring a high quality "C0" durable water repellant (DWR), this ripstop and tear resistant material can also handle light mist and dew (but is not waterproof).

Ventum nylon cuts the wind while still allowing for excellent vapor transfer and breathability. With a soft texture, Ventum is not sticky or plastic feeling like some other fabrics in this weight range.

The material is down and mosquito proof and is an excellent choice for wind shell clothing and sleeping bag shells.

Ventum fabric tests at 39.5 CFM under ASTM D-737.

DownTek 900 Fill Power Water Repellent Goose Down

I finally decided to replace my North Face Furnace 35 (which I like a lot). I was amazed that this thing is only 13oz for a 30 degree quilt. I was hesitant to get a quilt, because I thought it would be less comfy. Wrong! It feels so normal, like your blanket at home. It really feels MUCH warmer than my 35 degree mummy bag and much less restricting. This thing is soft, crazy light and comfortable. One note, I have already seen a few down exits in my first couple of nights. A little concerning, but I expected something so ultralight to be delicate, so I'm not taking off a star for that. If it becomes a problem, I'll edit my response.

This was my first ever quilt purchase. I got the 30 degree. I love it so much I am getting the 10 degree. So much better than a sleeping bag. Thank You Zpacks

Warm and light, but fiddly

I was looking for an ultralight but still warm 1-3 season bag or quilt, and this fits both of those criteria. I was surprised how warm this is for being rated to 30 degrees, and I have used it in below freezing conditions on snow (I do sleep with all or most of my clothes on). This thing is insanely light and takes up very little space in my pack. However, I wish I'd taken the weight penalty and gone with a zippered sleeping bag format, as this is fiddly and annoying to use, especially after dark. When I'm tired, I want my gear to save me time and energy, not require more. I get drafts at night when I roll over, and I find it takes more effort than I expected to try to get it just right (I usually just give up, though). I find I do miss the comfort and insulation of a sleeping bag underneath me, and the all around sealing in of heat that a zipper provides. I would not recommend this to someone unless they're already used to quilts.

Extremely satisfied

Being as I always take a lightweight down parka on every trip i believed that combining booties, wool baslayers, the parka and the a 30 degree quilt would keep me plenty warm even on colder nights and I am happy to say that it works perfectly. At 12.9 ounces and extreme compactability this 30゚ quilt completes my lightweight gear list. I am now able to fit all gear and 4 days worth of home dehydrated food In my 36 liter pack with a total weight of 11 pounds not counting water. The single strap is adequate and the elastic collar cinch is awesome, and yes I am extremely satisfied.
