Winter weather can be harsh, but when the digits drop yours don’t have to feel the chill. Made from a combination of New Zealand's brushtail possum fur, and New Zealand Merino lamb's wool, these PossumDown gloves provide plenty of warmth when you need it most.
PossumDown is produced by combining the fur of New Zealand's brushtail possum and New Zealand Merino lamb's wool.
The hair of brushtail possum is hollow, just like Polar Bear hair, which provides incredible warmth and water resistant. While typical wool gloves may stay warm when wet, they take forever to dry. If you put these gloves in water, the water shakes right out and they dry quickly.
New Zealand's possums are unrelated to the opossums found in the United States. They are super cute, but they are also an invasive species that destroy the native plant and bird life. More details can be found at PossumDown.co.nz
Made in New Zealand.
These gloves are stretchy, but they run a bit small. They may shrink a bit if they are dried in a dryer. It is better to size up if on the line.
PossumDown can be hand washed in a bathtub with warm water and soap or in a traditional washing machine.
The gloves should be line dried. Putting the gloves in a dryer may cause them to shrink a bit, but they do stretch back out.
I was on the PCT a few days ago and these gloves worked great. It’s pretty cold in the morning and they did the job.
Love these. Super warm and perfect for thru-hiking or shoveling snow!
Will always be in my pack!
I replaced my old set full of holes with a new pair, paired with the vertice mitts they are an awesome system. They arent the most durable, but will continue to use these as i wear them out.
A perfect glove for my hike on the A.T.
I just received these gloves and decided to test-drive them. We just had a big, wet, heavy snowfall of about 7”, and I wore these gloves to shovel the walk and clean my car off (30 degrees outside). I intentionally stuck my hands in the wet snow as much as I could. Even though the gloves got quite wet, my hands stayed pretty warm and the gloves did NOT get “soggy” like soft gloves like this usually do. I’m quite impressed! I think they will be a perfect glove for my hike on the A.T. this spring. Thanks! Well done. :-)
Could not believe how warm they are!
"I have been doing A LOT of research in finding a lightweight set up for the John Muir Trail I plan on hiking this summer. I haven’t backpacked in over 20 years until this summer. I have to get everything, I’m thrilled there are so many lightweight options available. I wanted to let you know in all my research that Zpacks has a GREAT reputation, not only in customer service but in the quality of their products! I’ve gotten a few items from you and plan on getting more. I got the possum down gloves and could not believe how warm they are!"
