When the rain begins to fall and the trail becomes a river, our Dyneema® Composite Fabric Rain Kilt offers a unique solution that keeps you dry while providing ample ventilation in warm weather storms. A great option for ultralight waist to knee rain protection, the Dyneema® Composite Fabric Rain Kilt works great when combined with our Vertice Rain Jacket or Groundsheet Poncho. Also available in a Waterproof Breathable Material version.

If you're not into a kilt but still into staying dry, Check out the rest of our Rain Gear.

  • The zipper will never blow open or leak, and you can unzip it as necessary to allow for a long stride.

  • The 38" waist kilt has a conical shape to allow a longer stride at the bottom while fitting a smaller waist. The 50" kilt is a rectangle shape. Both sizes have an elastic drawcord at the waist which can cinch the waist down to any smaller waist size.

  • When opened flat, the kilt can be used as a small ground cloth for breaks or for storing gear on wet ground. The kilt has reinforced tie out loops at the four corners, and at the center of the sides for other uses.

  • Packs up tiny. Just roll the kilt up and secure it with the waist elastic. No stuff sack necessary.

  • All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.

  • Made in the USA.

Exactly what I needed

It is nice to get weird looks and comments when you know they are based on ignorance. So far I have only used it to walk the dog on rainy days (this is London, UK, so pretty often). People are looking at me as the weird guy in sorts, sandals and a skirt in the rain and mud, but I am the only one who does not slip, and gets back to the car dry and clean.

Get European distributorship!

I haven’t had the chance to use it yet, but getting it here to Germany was an expensive proposition. $20 postage, plus I later got a bill from German customs for another €25. After all that I do hope it works well. It fits at least!

This is my second as I use this on the farm when driving my side by side and it starts to rain. My second is for tramping instead of using over trousers

The Rain Kilt

Overall: 4 out of 5 Stars ....................................... Dyneema = 100% waterproof It cover just under my knees (I'm 6'2") You don't accumulate sweat from wearing it due to walking with a large draft from underneath .. both being open underneath and the walking moves the air .... -1 STAR --> the lower section should have some amount of Cone Flair (like a real kilt) .. maybe a small accordion type DCF folds with elastic spread so that you can CROUCH and go to the bathroom without ripping the zipper out, and when you walk it comes back into shape
