If you're not into a kilt but still into staying dry, Check out the rest of our Rain Gear.
The zipper will never blow open or leak, and you can unzip it as necessary to allow for a long stride.
The 38" waist kilt has a conical shape to allow a longer stride at the bottom while fitting a smaller waist. The 50" kilt is a rectangle shape. Both sizes have an elastic drawcord at the waist which can cinch the waist down to any smaller waist size.
When opened flat, the kilt can be used as a small ground cloth for breaks or for storing gear on wet ground. The kilt has reinforced tie out loops at the four corners, and at the center of the sides for other uses.
Packs up tiny. Just roll the kilt up and secure it with the waist elastic. No stuff sack necessary.
All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.

When a sudden downpour arrives, no time for rain pants, this kilt is the answer. Quick to don and far cooler than the rain pants that I used the day before when rain preceded my departure. I will be leaving my rain pants at home in favor of this kilt whenever in shorts.
Light weight is awesome!
As an older person on the Mt. Whitney Mountaineers route I needed to minimize weight. Your products are perfect for me!
Total Rain and Wind protection
Last year I completed hiking the entire AT and this kilt/skirt, at a little more than an ounce, survived day after day of rain and wind. Very quick to don and hike in. This is one of the best "must have" z-pack products. It may look like its almost nothing but it really does the job at keeping dry. I adjust the zip for my stride. It doubles as cover when washing all your clothes at the laundromat. Baldeagle.
I love this
"The Kilt was fantastic on my 6 day trip in Tasmania. It was easy to don, and easier to get off. I love this. It worked great and did its job to keep me dry from my knees up. The most value simply came from its wind-stopper capability. I hike in running shorts, which are very, very breezy. In windy, snowy 35-40F temps I lose alot of heat from my groin area. As soon as I put on the kilt the breeze was blocked and I began to warm instantly. I wore it climbing up mountains... you name it... and then some, to the point where I forgot I had it on. I had no issues with the stride length. Sometimes, when striding large, I just reached its maximum allowable stride. Unzipping about 10cm fixed everything. So I simply left the skirt unzipped about 10cm from then on and never had another issue."
I love it!
"I've had a chance to use the rain kilt and I love it! It works great and keeps my legs cool while hiking. My legs get so hot in rain pants. Thanks Joe."
